Kayak & Stand Up Paddleboard Rentals

Kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboards and Canoe for rent in Morro Bay

Normal business hours 9-5.  Our last day to offer rentals will be Sunday, Sept. 29

Note:  After 15 amazing years my wife, Deborah, and I will be retiring at the end of September.  We will be closing the business on that day.

For local kayak rentals we can recommend:

Sub Sea Tours  https://www.subseatours.com/  (805) 772-9463

Rock Kayak   https://rockkayak.com/  (805) 772-2906

The Kayak Shack.

Note:  No reservations taken.  All rentals walk in first come first serve.  We have a very large rental fleet, so it`s very seldom we run short.  Large group pricing check link above.

Rental Policy concerning youth:  Minimum 13 years old to be in a single kayak.  Must be accompanied by an adult and the conditions must be mellow enough for the youth to have a safe experience.  We will be taking a close look at tide and wind conditions to determine if we feel it`s safe for the youth to be out in a single kayak.

Street address is 551 Embarcadero.  We are located just south of the Aquarium, next to the yacht club.

Our rental fleet features Sit-In Kayaks by Necky, Perception and Old Town and Nalu 12.5 Stand Up Paddleboards by Ocean.  We prefer Sit-In Kayaks not only because of the stable comfortable paddling experience but also because you can come back dry and warm.   We include all gear and equipment you’ll need as well as free instruction for beginners. Every renter receives a brief orientation and safety talk to make sure that your experience with us is a memorable one. No reservations taken, you can call ahead for tide times and weather conditions or just come on down!

The city recently removed the public restroom that had been situated across the street from our business.  Please take this into consideration before coming down.  There is a public restroom at Tidelands park, which is approx. 2 1/2 blocks south of our location.  Good idea to go there first before coming in to rent.  We strongly encourage our customers to not bother the surrounding businesses to use their facilities.

All rentals are a minimum of one hour.  We discount the second hour and break it off on fifteen minute increments.  Then figure it out when you come back.  Our half day rate is for up to 4 hours.

Stand Up Paddleboard (Includes life jacket and paddle).  Maximum weight capacity 225 lbs.

We use the Nalu 12.5 by Ocean.  Perfect for our flat water paddling here in the Bay.  Recessed foot wells put your feet at water level for outstanding stability.  Pointed Bow and 3 molded in fins for great tracking (means you don`t spend all your time just trying to get the Board to go straight).  Light and fast.  Perfect for the entry level or intermediate paddler.

$15.00 1st hour.  $10.00 hr. after that broke down into 15 minute intervals.

$38.00 half day (up to 4 hours)

Basic Single Kayak (Includes Life Jacket and Paddle)

$15.00 1st hour.  $10.00 hr. after that broke down into 15 minute increments.

$38.00 for half day

(up to 4 hours )

Our Basic Singles are designed with easy family style recreation in mind. They feature rock solid stability without sacrificing performance, large open cockpits for ease of entry and exit, and lots of room for all your stuff. Their smaller size makes them ideal for pulling up on the beach or exploring tight spots

Basic Double Kayak ( Includes Life Jackets and Paddles)

$22.00 1st hour  $14.00 hr. after that broke down into 15 minute increments.

$54.00 for half day (up to 4 hrs)

The Basic Doubles we feature offer all the convenience, stability and accessibility of our singles with room for two. They are perfect for that quick hour paddle with a friend or if you have a small child that just wants to go along for the ride.
